Regattas:
80th anniversary regatta.
Sunday 31st July. 2011
Soup and baguette at midday followed by informal regatta following the original course. East to the Hen and Chickens Buoy then westward to Inchbrake Buoy, before returning to the Carron mouth.
Afterwards a Bar - B - Q and refreshments
The first regatta was held on Saturday 1st August 1931. Only boats from the newly formed Grangemouth Yacht Club were entered. Sixteen boats took part resulting in
1st "Thelma" (G. Sorensen) 3hrs 15mins 20 secs.
2nd "Wasp" (J. Martin) 3hrs 41mins 35secs
3rd "Lady Betty" (A. Whyte) 3hrs 51mins 35secs.
High tide is at 16.20 hrs BST most boats will be able to sail at 13.30 hrs.
